Danger: Diabolik (1967)
»Danger: Diabolik« is an Italian movie based on a popular comic strip of the time featuring the adventures of a super-criminal named Diabolik. As a movie it is like an Italian Austin Powers without the camped-up humor. The cast includes parts for Terry-Thomas (dubbed into Italian) and Italian villain-specialist Adolfo Celi, who played Largo in Thunderball . As is frequent in Italian media of all kinds, the female stars have rather abbreviated costumes which do not admit of the wearing of undergarments.
The sub-stars of the movie are a pair of E-type Jaguars, one black, one white, driven by 'Diabolik' and his paramour. His black. Hers white. There are few locations in the movie, set on the Italian Riviera, but nothing of real note.
The E-types have far larger parts written for them than in The Italian Job (1969) but the movie still leaves you wishing you could see more of them. Some of the actual driving footage is overcranked which is dissappointing but there are plenty of good stills.
